Update: Death of Keighley woman ‘tragic accident’

Detectives investigating the death of a woman in Keighley have confirmed it is not being treated as suspicious.

Officers were called by the ambulance service to Vernon Court, Keighley at about 3.55pm yesterday after a member of the public found the body of a woman in bushes at the rear of properties there.

The woman is believed to be aged around 60 and from the local area.

Detective Chief Inspector Steve Snow, of West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: “A post-mortem examination has been completed and has confirmed this death was not suspicious.

“This appears to have been a tragic accident and a file will now be passed to the Coroner for further investigation.”
