Two seriously hurt in Castleford motorbike crash

A MOTORBIKE passenger suffered potentially life threatening injuries after the bike she was travelling pillion on was involved in an accident in Castleford this morning. (Thurs July 17)

The man who was riding the bike was seriously injured in the incident on Front Street at Glasshoughton.

Police said officers were called at 5.30am to reports of a two people being injured after a motorbike struck a kerb.

The man who was riding the bike and the woman passenger were taken to Leeds General Infirmary by ambulance.

Police closed Front Street to traffic just after 5.30am. It was re-opened just after 10am.

Stephen Ewen, 62, of Cookridge, who died of sepsis in 2017.
