Two hurt in Leeds road smash

Two drivers were taken to hospital after a crash on a Kirkstall Road last night.

The smash involved a blue Volkswagen Golf which was travelling along the A65 away from the city when it collided with a red Vauxhall Vectra at the junction with Cavendish Street just after 7.30pm.

The driver of the Golf, a 26-year-old man from Beeston Hill, and the driver of the Vectra, a 30-year-old man from Lower Wortley, were both taken to Leeds General Infirmary.

The driver of the Vectra is being treated for serious injuries and the driver of the Golf has been kept in for observations.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or the movements of the Golf prior to the collision, to contact City and Holbeck Roads Policing Unit on 0113 2414642
