Two dead and a third seriously injured in Leeds crash

Two people have been killed and a third seriously injured in a crash this morning.

Police said the crash happened just after 5.30am in Middleton Grove, Beeston, Leeds, and involved a white Ford Focus and a white Renault heavy goods vehicle. Officers said a man and a woman who died and a man who suffered serious injuries were all travelling in the Ford Focus.

A spokeswoman for West Yorkshire Police said the driver of the HGV was not injured in the collision.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is urged to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team on 101.
