Two arrests after man stabbed in Wakefield

A MAN suffered stab wounds during an incident in the Eastmoor area of Wakefield in the early hours this morning.

Police were called just before 2.30am to an address on Parkgate Avenue after a 40-year old man suffered stab wounds.

He was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment to his injuries, which are not thought to be as life threatening.

Det Insp Paul Harrison of Wakefield CID, said two men were arrested, adding: “I would ask anyone who saw a disturbance in the Parkgate Avenue area, or suspicious behaviour in nearby streets just after 2am, to contact Wakefield District CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
