THOUSANDS of runners will be the stars of the show when the Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon gets national TV exposure.

Highlights of this year’s race are being screened tomorrow on Channel 4 at 7.05am and Channel 4+1 an hour later.

Hosted by former Olympic athlete Katharine Merry and TV presenter Kevin Harris, the hour-long programme will also be shown on Sky Sports and other digital channels in the coming weeks. The race took place in York on October 11 and was organised by Leeds-based Run For All.

The annual event is part of the fundraising legacy of the late Leeds cancer heroine Jane Tomlinson.
