'˜A truly magical experience' in Leeds

Enchanted elves, Christmas walks and Santa himself are heading to Leeds for a new festive attraction opening tomorrow.

For just four weeks only, Lotherton Hall will host a range of Christmas-themed activities in the in the run up to the Christmas Day celebrations.

The estate grounds and Edwardian house in Aberford will be transformed for The Christmas Experience attraction, which features an interactive Elf Village and Santa’s Grotto.

Visitors will also be treated to a magical Twelve Days of Christmas Walk and Fairy Dell during the month-long event.

Coun Judith Blake, Leeds City Council leader, said: “The Christmas Experience will be a truly special event for all ages.

“We are looking forward to opening our doors to families on November 25. The magic doesn’t stop at our Elf Village, with visitors to the estate also able to enjoy our Twelve Days of Christmas walk and our Fairy Dell in our idyllic grounds for the very first time.

“From beautiful lanterns, to dazzling installations and a full fairy village for children to explore, this will be a truly magical experience that families will want to experience for themselves.”

The attraction is open until December 23 to families but is ticket-only.

And the council said tickets are selling fast for the event due to high demand, and urged people to book ahead if they want to take part.

Tickets for the Elf Village cost £9.95 per child, and entry to the estate costs £2.70.

Entry to the estate costs £5.50 for adults.
