Chai and Chaat will have a six-week residency in Trinity Leeds's popular food court, starting from this week, and will serve up spicy cuisine from the subcontinent.

They will be joined by four stalls that have been given the green light to return to Trinity after successful pilot pitches.

Thai curry van Buddha Belly, sweet treat sellers the Bournville Waffle Company, who specialise in Belgian waffles cooked in their blue caravan, and hot dog kings Diamond Dogs are all back in the shopping centre after receiving positive feedback from diners.

American burger specialists Kerbedge, who use chuck steak mince in their recipes, will join them for the next six weeks.

The contracts for rotating food outlets are handed out based on customer responses and the vendors will remain until January 22.

Trinity Leeds marketing manager Dan Wharton said:

“We’re always listening to what people have to say about Trinity Kitchen and the food it serves. We know people really fell in love with our returning vendors, so it was only right we ask them to come back and delight our shoppers.

“The countdown to Christmas is in full swing now, so we want everyone doing their Christmas shopping to come down to Trinity Kitchen and tuck in to food they know they’ll love.”
