Serious congestion in Leeds causing traffic misery as some buses running 50 minutes late

Serious congestion is causing chaos for drivers and bus users in Leeds tonight.

Traffic is causing a misery in Leeds city centre

Transport group Metro Travel says 'serious delays' are causing problems for drivers in Leeds city centre and in areas including Garforth.

A spokesman said: "Leeds experiencing serious delays due to traffic congestion, some services are now operating up to 50 minutes late. Shortened and cancelled trips likely.

"Due to heavy traffic in Leeds/Halifax/Bradford/Wakefield 209/220/221/222/223/229/254/255 services running up to 45 mins late."

A traffic collision in Garforth is also causing problems.

"Services 163, 166, X60 delayed due to traffic collision at Selby Road, Garforth," the spokesman added.
