Pedestrians left with life threatening injuries after car crashes into a Huddersfield bus stop.

A teenage girl and a woman are fighting for their lives after a car crashed into a bus stop in West Yorkshire this morning.

The 15-year-old was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary with life threatening injuries where she is currently receiving treatment. The 47-year-old woman was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with life threatening injuries and is described as being in stable condition.

A third person aged 17 was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary with serious injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

They were all pedestrians when the car collided with the bus stop on Wakefield Road, near to the junction of Broad Lane in Moldgreen, at around 8.15am.

The grey BMW 5 Series was travelling from Huddersfield and the driver, a 51-year-old man, was also taken to Huddersfield Royal with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

West Yorkshire Police is now appealing for anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident and who may have seen the grey BMW travelling before the collision, or who witnessed the collision itself to come forward with any information.
