Major delays on M62 as all emergency services called to West Yorkshire crash

Highways England reported the crash on the eastbound carriageway shortly after 1pm today (Friday).

It happened between Junction 24 at Huddersfield and Junction 25 at Brighouse.

All emergency services are at the scene and traffic has been stopped.

There are delays of more than 30 minutes and slow traffic backing up for three miles.

Highways England tweeted: "Traffic Officers are on scene assisting to move the vehicles involved in this traffic collision to the hard shoulder.

"We will be reopening the carriageway once all vehicles and emergency services are in a place of safety. Please remain in your vehicle and await updates.

"There are currently delays of 30 mins and slow traffic for over three miles with congestion beginning prior to J24. Please allow extra time and consider alternative routes or delaying your journey."
