Heavy rush-hour traffic on Clay Pit Lane in Leeds city centre due to broken down van

There is heavy traffic on the road during rush-hour, traffic service Inrix reported.

The service said: "One lane blocked and heavy traffic due to broken down van on A58(M) Inner Ring Road Westbound around A58 Clay Pit Lane."

Motorists are warned to allow for extra time to travel.

Commuters are also facing long delays this morning due to a traffic light failure on The Headrow in Leeds

The AA are reporting significant delays due to the fault.

On their live grid, a report states: "Heavy traffic due to traffic signal failure on The Headrow at Lands Lane."

The problem was first reported at 7.02am.

Commuters took to social media to complain about traffic building in the area.

One person said: "Traffic is very heavy at the top of town.

"Looks like a traffic light has stopped."
