First Park and Ride Bus named after Marcelo Bielsa to celebrate Leeds United's Premier League promotion
To celebrate Leeds United's promotion to the Premier League, First Bus has named one of its fleet after head coach Marcelo Bielsa.
The Park & Ride bus will serve the circular PR1 route from Elland Road to Boar Lane, which has reopened to the public as lockdown measures are eased.
It bears Bielsa's name above the front windscreen and has already been spotted making its journey through Leeds.
The Whites' coach, who guided Leeds back to the Premier League after 16 years, is well-known for his obsessive attention to detail and rigorous analysis of opponents' matches.
But Bielsa is not above hopping on the bus himself - he was spotted watching football on his laptop on a bus from Leeds city centre to Elland Road earlier this month.
A spokesman for First Bus West Yorkshire confirmed the naming of the bus today and said: "To celebrate Leeds United's promotion to the Premier League, we’ve decided to name one of the Leeds Park & Ride buses after head coach Marcelo Bielsa!"
