A man was seriously injured when his car flipped on Leeds ring road last night (Sunday).

The 28-year-old was travelling on the ring road towards Weetwood when his Renault Clio hit the central reservation close to the Moor Allerton roundabout at the junction with King Lane at about 9.20pm.

PC Dale Anderson, from the safer roads and neighbourhood support team, said: “As a result of the collision the vehicle flipped over coming to rest on the far side of the roundabout.

“A 28-year-old local man, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where he remains in a serious but stable condition.”

Witnesses should call the safer roads and neighbourhood support team 101.

SLOW PROGRESS: Traffic queuing on Wellington Street, one of the main routes in the centre of Leeds.

Is Leeds stuck in the slow lane or a city that is definitely going places?
