Driver, 77, seriously injured in Wakefield crash

A PENSIONER was seriously injured in a crash involving two cars near Wakefield city centre this morning.

Police said the 77-year-old woman was driving a blue Nissan Micra which was involved in collision with a silver Ford Focus near Sainsburys on Ings Road close to the junction with Denby Dale Road just before 10am today. (May 17)

The woman was taken to Leeds General Infirmary after suffering serious but not life threatening injuries.
