Delays of 90 minutes as six-car M62 crash causes standstill traffic in West Yorkshire

A six-car crash is causing 90 minute delays on the M62 with queuing traffic building in West Yorkshire.

It happened on the westbound carriageway between J22 A672 (Rishworth Moor) and J21 A6193 Sir Isaac Newton Way (Milnrow).

All lanes have now reopened but nine miles of heavy traffic has built back to junction 24 near Elland, our traffic partner INRIX reports.

One driver reported being stuck in the queue for more than 40 minutes and delays are now at 90 minutes above normal journey times.

Highways England reported: "Due to the traffic collision delays are now currently at 90 mins above the profile journey time.

"Traffic is currently very slow moving from J24 to J21. Woodhead Pass is OPEN and incident free as an alternative."
