Cross Gates street closed in both directions after 11-year-old girl hit by car

An 11-year-old girl has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Leeds.

Police were called to Penda's Way, Cross Gates, at about 3.45pm following the crash.

The girl suffered a leg injury and has been taken to hospital.

Penda's Way remains closed to traffic and buses are diverting away from the scene.

First Bus service 40 is currently diverting via Barwick Road, Church Lane and Austhorpe Road in both directions due to the incident.
