FIREFIGHTERS are dealing with a blaze on a car transporter on the M62 motorway.
It is believed the blaze broke out on a vehicle on the transporter on the exit slip road of the westbound M62 at junction 25 for Brighouse just after 6.40pm tonight.
West Yorkshire Police said the exit slip road at junction 25 is currently closed, but the M62 eastbound and westbound carriageways remain open.
Fire crews from Cleckheaton, Odsal, Bradford and Rastrick are tackling the blaze.
Alex Thwaite, 23, a maintenance worker with a Leeds company, witnessed the blaze as he travelled as a passenger in a car on the M62. He said: “I saw the fire and I couldn’t believe it.
“At first I thought it was a controlled fire off the motorway but as we got closer I could see it was a vehicle burning on a transporter.”
