Car leaves scene of crash leaving scooter rider seriously injured in Leeds

A scooter driver has been left with serious injuries following a collision with a car that didn't stop early this morning.

West Yorkshire Police say it happened at 03.50am on Dewsbury Road at the junction with Trentham Street when the bike and a dark-coloured Volkswagen were in collision.

The bike, a Pulse 125 Lightspeed, was being ridden along Dewsbury Road in the direction of Leeds and the other vehicle was travelling in the opposite direction when the collision occurred.

A spokesperson said that the Volkswagen did not stop at the scene and as a result of the incident the scooter rider was left with serious injuries.

Any witnesses to the incident or who saw the vehicles immediately before the incident are asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 155.
