All traffic has been held on the M62 due to a crash - causing long delays for commuters.

Traffic service Inrix reported queuing traffic due to an accident on the M62 Westbound from J24 A629 (Ainley Top) to J23 A640 New Hey Road (Huddersfield).

All traffic was held shortly before 6pm, it was reported.

Severe delays on the M62 are causing problems for commuters heading westbound.

All lanes have now been re-opened, Inrix reported.

The AA reported: "Delays increasing on M62 Westbound between J24 A629 (Ainley Top) and J23 A640 New Hey Road (Huddersfield)."
