Traffic delays in Leeds city centre after man falls from flyover

Traffic was at a standstill in part of Leeds city centre today after a man fell from a flyover onto the inner ring road.

Drivers were being advised to avoid a section of the inner ring road following an incident at 2.27pm, West Yorkshire Police said.

Officers were called to the A58 Inner Ring Road after a man fell onto the eastbound carriageway from the Woodhouse Lane flyover bridge.

He received serious injuries and has been taken to hospital for treatment.

A scene was in place this afternoon and the carriageway closed. Drivers are advised to avoid the area.

This afternoon, Twitter uses expressed their frustration at the traffic delays.

One wrote: “Once again Leeds is gridlocked, appalling traffic management and infrastructure.”

Another posted a message saying: “Gridlocked!!! That is all! #Leeds #Traffic #Nightmare.”
