Temporary traffic lights on major route into Leeds city centre causing commuter chaos during rush hour

Temporary traffic lights on Armley Road, A647, are causing huge delays for motorists this morning.

The AA reported significant delays on the popular route into Leeds city centre.

Many motorists took to social media to warn others they had 'barely moved' in the standstill traffic.

One said it had taken over half an hour to move less than a mile.

The AA reported: "Delays increasing on A647 Armley Road Eastbound in Armley."

The live traffic map shows delays tailing from Armley Road to Stanningley Bypass.

Commuters have been warned to allow for extra time to travel on the route.
