Stanningley Bypass closed after multi-vehicle crash in Leeds during rush hour

Stanningley Bypass has been closed by police after a multi-vehicle crash during rush hour.

It happened on the Leeds-bound carriageway, near Pudsey, at 5.37pm.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police has said that three vehicles are believed to have been involved in the crash - a white Hyundai, a black BMW and a silver Volkswagen Golf.

There are no reported injuries but police have closed the Leeds-bound carriageway as they clear the crash, which is blocking the road.

There are also major delays on the outbound carriageway on the approach to the crash.

First Bus services X6 and X11 are diverting via Stanningley Road due to the Stanningley Bypass closure.

Police advise drivers to avoid the area and congestion is expected into the evening.
