Road closure to last all weekend after 'major water burst' on busy Leeds road

A burst water main has forced the closure of a busy Leeds road.

It happened on Friday morning on Weetwood Lane at the junction with the A6120 Ring Road, close to the donkey sanctuary.

Yorkshire Water are on site repairing the water main and the damage it has caused.

The Headingley and Hyde Park councillors posted on their Facebook page: "The traffic management is currently a one way road closure preventing vehicles travelling in a northerly direction with no access to A6120 ring road.

"The one-way road closure will be in place for tonight’s peak and also over the weekend period for the consequential damage to be completed safely

"The diversion route for vehicles will be A660 Otley Road, A6120 Ring Road."
