Otley Road towards Leeds remains closed after a water main burst on Wednesday.

It happened on the A660 in Headingley, at the junction with the B6157 North Lane and Wood Lane.

Bus services faced delays of up to one hour throughout the day and there was heavy congestion.

Signs warning of the closure could be seen across the city centre this morning.

It is expected that the road will remain closed until 3pm today.

Traffic is already slow.

The AA said: "Road closed and slow traffic due to burst water main on A660 Otley Road into town between B6157 North Lane and Bennett Road.

"Area traffic control confirm that this road will be re-open before 15:00 today.

"Traffic is slow on approach to the closure."
