Crash causes long delays on M621

The motorway has been hit with a backlog of traffic following a crash on the M1 southbound earlier this evening.

The crash, involving two cars, occurred between junctions 41 and 40 near Wakefield.

Congestion on the M1 southbound is reportedly as far back as junction 43, and the M621 eastbound carriage is badly affected as a result.

It follows traffic chaos in Leeds city centre on Thursday night, with thousands affected by severe delays after the closure of the Armley Gyratory due to a police incident earlier in the afternoon.
