First Bus issued an update to say that all services going the city centre are heavily affected.

This is due to the queing traffic.

The bus provider issued an update at about 4.30pm which said: "All Services operating through the Leeds City Centre are heavily affected with queuing traffic.

"Delays and congestion on Kirkstall Road York Road from Killingbeck towards Leeds, Inner Ringroad, Armley Gyratory, Holbeck and Elland Road areas.

"Some journeys are now operating up to 90 minutes behind schedule."

This will not be helped by the closure on Wellington Street both ways from Lisbon Street to King Street.

The AA has also said: "Traffic has not been helped by Christmas shopping in the city centre.
