TRAFFIC ALERT: Rush hour delays in Leeds after car collides with traffic lights

Motorists in Leeds face rush hour delays after a car collided with a set of traffic lights this afternoon (Tuesday).

The crash happened at 4pm on New Road in Yeadon, at the junction with Whack House Lane.

Police said a black Vauxhall Zafira collided with traffic lights on the road, and officers are now at the scene waiting for a recovery vehicle.

The road is currently closed while the scene is cleared and there are delays.

Leeds bus operator First said that services are now diverting via Kirk Lane and Henshaw Lane in both directions.
