Token gift to hospitals charity

A Leeds store is helping to make wishes come true this festive period.

Briggate-based Samsung Electronics is teaming up with local hospitals and charities to create a tailored technology package, from tablet cinema or gaming, to suit their individual needs.

Each person who visits the Leeds Samsung Experience Store during the festive period can make a wish for Leeds Cares by dropping a token into the Wish Machine.

The more tokens collected, the bigger the donation. If customers make a purchase, they can lift the magic even further with five tokens being automatically donated.

And the technology donation will be installed as a permanent feature so that the experience can be enjoyed all year round.

Sam Grant, Chief Marketing Officer of Samsung Electronics UK, said: “A simple token donation will go a long way in making the wishes come true, and we look forward to seeing how the experiences are brought to life.”

Alison Cameron, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Leeds Cares, said the charity was delighted to be working with Samsung.

“We’re really grateful that Samsung have chosen to work with Leeds Cares as the charity partner of Leeds Teaching Hospitals,” she said.

“Their Christmas campaign will provide a really exciting - and much needed - gift to the hospitals this Christmas and we really hope lots of people will go into their Leeds store to take part and vote over the next few weeks.”

Until December 22, customers who go into the store will also have a chance to win a wish by sharing an in store selfie of themselves and the Samsung device they wish for via Instagram #samsungwishesleeds and tagging @SamsungUK
