Thousands set to flock to city for tenth Live at Leeds

The extravaganza gets underway on Saturday with hundreds of bands set to perform across 17 venues across the city.

This year’s event sees the likes of Jess Glynne, We are Scientists, Crica Waves and Corinne Bailey Rae performing, with the latter playing a very intitmate show at the HiFi Club.

In order to celebrate the festival the YEP has produced a handy graphic showing who is headlining the main venues for this year’s event.

Attendees need to exchange their ticket for a wristband from the First Direct Arena, from 10.30am until 6pm on Saturday.

You must head to the wristband exchange prior to any venues.

Tickets cannot be used to gain entry to venues, you must have exchanged your ticket for a valid LAL wristband.

VIP upgrade wristbands will only be issued if a valid Live at Leeds standard ticket, and upgrade ticket are presented at the wristband exchange together.

A festival spokesman said: “Entry is subject the venue capacity, so to avoid disappointment we would recommend getting to your chosen shows early, as entry is on a first come first served basis. Ticket sales are based on a total of all participating venue capacities however it is inevitable that some venues/performances will be busier than others.

“You are free to enter and leave performances at any point.”

This year will also see the addition of an outdoor stage and eating zone on Briggate. Bands to grace the stage will include local favourites Glass Caves mixing it up with music from Fletcher Jackson, Katie Dean, Party Hardly, Where Fires Are and Colour of Spring.

LAUNCH PAD

Previous performers at Live at Leeds have included a veritable who’s who of hit artists.

Among those to have performed include Mumford and Sons, Ed Sheeran, The Cribs, Metronomy, The Maccabees and Bombay Bicycle Club.

The festival has also proved a great launch 
pad for homegrown Leeds bands, incluing the likes of This Et Al, Grammatics and Eagulls.
