This is not a false alarm. I repeat, this is not a false alarm.
Rain is currently falling in Leeds for the first time in weeks.
The current heatwave has been a long one and the dry spell that has accompanied it has caused major problems for gardeners, farmers, pet owners and others.
But it is over, with rain falling in the city for a prolonged period today.
But will it continue to fall? Or will the rain go as quickly as it fell?
Well, current weather forecasts are predicting that the rain will stop falling this afternoon.
The bad news (or good news, depending on whether you were ready for some rain) is that it will probably return again this evening.
Rain is expected to fall between 7pm and midnight, before fading away like a distant memory during Saturday morning.
The weekend is set to be fine and sunny for the majority - but more rain could return next week.
