Things about to get hotter at Neon

The amber nectar or more precisely the '˜agave' nectar is about to put a twist of Tequila into your next night out.

After catering to the heady holiday tastes of city workers for seven years , Neon Cactus on Call Lane is celebrating its birthday with a revamp of its food and drink menus.

The new drinks list includes a range of Mezcalsm – the most ancient distilled spirit in America – and Sotol which is a type of Mezcal made from Asparagaceae agave, grown in Northern Mexico.

There is a new look cocktail menu and even classics have been given a shot of the good stuff.

Neon Cactus will be expanding on its reputation for authentic street food with Chipotle-Marinated Duck Fajitas, Black Bean and Corn Tacos, Lamb Pibil Quesadillas and Mexican Green Rice.

Neon Cactus is part of the Leelex Group and is the cheekier younger sister to Cielo Blanco – based at Trinity Leeds shopping centre.

Craig Kennedy, Neon’s new general manager said: “It’s our mission to convert everyone to team agave or, at the very least, to respect it as much more than a shot of tequila, salt and a slice of lemon.”
