The Household Dogs: A '˜Made in Leeds' name for the music future

It follows the Household Dogs’ first headline gig which will be at the 360 Club a week tomorrow and comes off the back of two singles too.

Full details will be released before the end of the year but 2017 so far has been a rapid one for the four-piece – Declan Newcombe, Matt Fogg, Henry Chatham and Patrick Morgan – who, aged between 23 and 25, formed last year after finishing their studies the previous year.

Frontman and writer Newcombe said there was still a lot to work on but with the release of the third single, Fallen Yet, imminent they are heading in the right direction.

He told City Buzz: “The plan is at some point we want to not have day jobs and for this to be our job. We are still early in the band, there is so much room to build on, but we are evolving and things surprise us.”

The lads, who all met on the music course, have been described as being storytellers with their shows and use thunderous choruses with country and electro twists.

The sound is something 
they are constantly working 
on, as they literally live and breathe the music in the basement of the house they share in Burley Park from writing to mixing and recording before self releasing via a distributor to the likes of streaming platforms Spotify and iTunes.

Newcombe added: “I moved to London after college and realised what I wanted to do was be in a band with my mates and moved back to Leeds with the intention of forming the band. It made me realise this is what I want to be doing –playing rather than working in the industry as managers or whatever.

“We want to be up here letting people hear our music.”
