Leeds will be the word for movie fans when the city plays host to five electrifying screenings of much-loved film musical Grease.
Guests at the screenings can look forward to performances from professional dancers, a Grease-inspired cocktail menu and specially prepared street food.
There will also be free cocktails on offer to people who come along dressed as characters Danny Zuko or Sandy Olsson.
The screenings are happening next Friday and Saturday, June 30 and July 1, at Kirkstall Road’s Studio 81 soundstage, where filming has taken place in the past for TV programmes such as Peaky Blinders and DCI Banks.
They form part of a tour for the pop-up cinema experience that is getting under way following a successful staging at Manchester’s Old Granada Studios last month.
The event’s general manager, Stuart Barber, said: “After the success of our Grease experience in Manchester, we wanted to bring the show to more people around the UK and we’re excited to announce Leeds as the first stop on the Grease tour!
“We’ve got a lot of surprises planned for everyone – live performances, themed cocktails, street food and DJ sets, it’s going to be a lot of fun.
“So many people from around the world love Grease, myself included, and we can’t wait for them to experience it live!”
The screenings are taking place at 6.30pm and 9.30pm on Friday and 2.30pm, 6.30pm and 9.15pm on Saturday.
Tickets are priced £14.99, visit the www.greaseexperience.com website for further information.
