Teenage girls have extra time to make voice heard

TEENAGE girls in Leeds still have time to air their views in the YEP as we have extended the deadline for our International Women's Day competition.

The YEP is asking girls aged 11-18 to write an article or make a video on an issue you think is important.

For the article all you have to do is write around 250 words on why you feel it matters so much. If you make a video it should be no more than one minute.

The winners will be announced in the newspaper on International Women’s Day and their entries will be in the paper and online. As the prize they will have the unique opportunity to visit the newsroom, join the YEP’s morning conference and see first-hand how the paper is put together.

Email entries to [email protected] by the end of Sunday. Entrants must have permission from a parent or guardian to enter. Please also include contact details for them.
