Teenage girl left with scars after being glassed by man in Leeds nightclub

A teenage girl has been left with scars after being smashed in the face with a glass in a Leeds nightclub.

The attack happened inside the VIP area of Space nightclub, in Leeds city centre.

A man approached two women who were sat in the area at about 2.30am, and police said "an altercation occurred" and the man walked off.

But he returned shortly after, and hit one of the women in the face with a glass, before leaving the scene.

The victim, 18, suffered serious facial injuries including cuts to her nose and above her eye and was taken to hospital.

She has been left with some scarring on her face.

The attack happened on December 10, but police today issued a CCTV picture of the suspect.

PC Rushman, of Leeds District Police, said: “This was a violent assault of a young woman and one which left her with serious injuries. Even though she is recovering, she is incredibly lucky that the glass did not damage her eyes.

“I am releasing this image today of a man who we would like to speak to in connection with this incident. I would also like to appeal to anyone who was in the nightclub that night and witnessed the incident or have any information to come forward and speak to the police.”

The suspect is described as a white male, in his early 20s, 5ft 8” and muscular build. He was wearing a white hoody and a jacket tied round his waist.
