It comes after residents in the town had raised concerns with councillors about the state of the roads.

Coun Judith Elliott (Morley Borough Independents, Morley South), told the Yorkshire Evening Post she was “delighted” the project had been given the go-ahead.

“We have been lobbying for some time for this work to be completed,” she said.

“We know residents have raised their concerns about the need to improve both the road surface an pavements.

“I am delighted we are now getting this work done.”

The improvement work will be carried out this month.
