Tablet computer lending scheme launched in Leeds
Council bosses hope a new tablet computer lending scheme at Leeds libraries will help bridge Leeds's 'digital divide' by allowing people from disadvantaged backgrounds to access jobs and skills online.
It’s all part of the new “100% Digital Leeds” campaign, which Leeds City Council hopes could help generate £45m for the city’s economy over the next decade.
A newly approved council report says permission has now been signed for a contract for the purchase of 60 iPad Air 2s, which will be lent out in a three month pilot.
