Seminal Leeds band The Sunshine Underground have announced they are calling it quits after 10 years together.
The band, who enjoyed nationwide success with tracks such as Commercial Breakdown will release one final album and embark on one final tour in October before splitting. So far no Leeds date has been announced but it is extremely likely they will play in the adoptive city before calling time on the band.
A band statement read: “Ladies and Gents, we’ve had the best time ever in this band but the time has come to announce the end of The Sunshine Underground. Ten years on from our debut album feels like the right time to draw a line under what has been an absolute blast and look to new musical adventures.
“Let’s make sure we go out with a bang. It’s going to be emotional.”
