Striking vision for new £50m riverside development in Leeds

The proposals for the new scheme at Granary Wharf include 250 apartments, office space, bars, cafés, restaurants and landscaped areas. The scheme is part of the regeneration of Holbeck Urban Village, and if given the go ahead, work could start later this year.

David Topham, chief executive at CTP, which is putting forward the proposals, said: “Granary Wharf is a vibrant hub in the heart of the city, and our latest plans continue to build on its success. “There is a growing demand for high quality accommodation in Leeds.”

The scheme, nestled alongside the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, will include a mix of one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, as well as 7,200sq ft of office space, 35 parking spaces and cycle spaces.

The site on Wharf Approach, off Water Lane, is currently being used as a car park.

A public exhibition will be held tomorrow for local residents to have their say.

Mr Topham added: “I encourage people to come along to our public exhibition to find out more about our proposals.”

The event will be held from 4pm to 8pm at the front atrium at the Round Foundry Media Centre on Foundry Street in Leeds.

Visitors will be able to see the plans and speak to members of the project team.

A spokesman for CTP said a planning application would be submitted to Leeds City Council after the public consultation.
