StreetSmart, backed by the Yorkshire Evening Post, continues until December 31 this year.

It has been running in Leeds for nine years and this year has recruited four new eateries.

The Granary Restaurant at Caring for Life (Crag House Farm, Cookridge), MEATliquor, Crafthouse and Angelica, all in The Trinity are new to the scheme joining the likes of Harvey Nichols, Salvo’s, The Olive Tree and Chino Latinos.

Having started at the beginning of November, with the benefit of a tablecard or a reference on the menu, a voluntary £1 is added to the diners’ bill.

At the end of each month, the restaurant passes all of these pounds to StreetSmart who then distribute the proceeds to St George’s Crypt, Leeds Women’s Aid and Caring for Life which are all Leeds based homeless charities.
