Emma Bunton, Geri Horner and Leeds’s Melanie Brown have reportedly agreed to a show at the London landmark in July 2017 to mark the 21st anniversary of their debut single Wannabe.

A source told a national newspaper: “Mel B, Emma and Geri agreed Hyde Park would be the ultimate way to launch a reunion next July for their 21st anniversary.

“It gives them a year to plan everything and make sure their comeback is spectacular.

“It would be the most talked about gig of the year.”

According to a national paper, Horner is the “driving force” behind the reunion and hosted the planning session at her London home.

Joyce Smyth, who recently took the Rolling Stones to Cuba for their historic gigs, is expected to be the band’s manager.

The Spice Girls celebrate their 20th anniversary on Friday.

Wannabe was one of the band’s biggest hits, spending seven weeks at the top of the UK charts and earning them a Brit award for best single.

Mother-of-three Melanie Brown - known as Scary Spice - built up a successful television career, judging the UK X Factor, having previously been part of the panel on the Australian version of the talent show. She opened her family home to TV crews for the reality show Mel B: It’s A Scary World.
