A south Leeds post office is set for modernisation.

The Old Lane branch in Beeston will be closing later this month and re-opening on September 1.

It will be offering quick and convenient services including Local Collect, international deliveries and cash wishdrawals.

The branch will be open between 9am and 5.30pm Monday-Saturday, with an extra five hours of opening time on Saturday afternoons. Customers will also be able to send funds abroad using Moneygram, pay bills, buy holiday money, get insurance, mortgages and savings and top up mobile phones.

Area manager Julie Kemp said: “We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.”

The branch will be closed from 1pm on Wednesday, August 19 for the refurbishment to take place, but customers can go to the Beeston Hill or Victoria Terrace Post Offices.
