STORMY weather wasn’t enough to put off pint-sized pirates from braving the beach.

City Beach was awash with mini pirates as youngsters flocked to Millennium Square for a special pirate-themed event.

Throughout the weekend, a ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Jack Sparrow lookalike roamed around the sandy beach and young scavengers could take part in their very own treasure hunt.

Organiser Roger Tuby Junior said: “The rain came just after the treasure hunt so luckily we missed the bad weather.

“We had a nice bit of sunshine on Sunday and it’s gone really well, with around 1,000 people visiting City Beach this weekend.”
