The tech company is offering 50 people a place on a free coding course that will be held at Wellington Place during Leeds Digital Festival in April.

The sessions, called Coding for Beginners, will walk attendees through some simple games to give them a taste of how coding is applied when solving a number of problems.

Tom Hudson, lead engineer at Sky Betting & Gaming, developed the course.

He said: “At the very least I hope people will gain an appreciation of what engineers do and hone their analytical thinking skills.

“I hope people are inspired to learn more. Maybe not changing careers, but automating a tedious task is certainly a worthwhile goal.”

The company is offering a 1pm to 4pm afternoon session each day of the Leeds Digital Festival, which runs from April 24 to April 28.
