The Potting Shed, Bingley

For an out-of-town experience, this gastro-pub has a brand new menu that includes the show stopping Yorkshire Pudding Burger, a hand pressed beef patty with Yorkshire blue cheese, locally sourced bacon and sandwiched between two Yorkshire puddings. You can’t get much more local than that! With live music and an impressive outdoor seating area for those rare summer days, The Potting Shed is the perfect venue for burger lovers on the 25th.

Shooters Sports Bar

Kill two birds with one stone and catch some live sport at Shooters while tucking into one of it’s mouth-watering burgers. Our personal favourite is the ‘Bang Tidy’ burger, which consists of 8oz premium beef, Southern fried chicken, cheese stuffed chilli pepper and garlic mayo. Are you hungry yet? They also do a great veggie option, the aptly named ‘Garden’ burger, with a Southern fried Quorn escalope and all the trimmings.

The Botanist

For the best of both worlds, the Botanist caters for the burger lovers and haters amongst you. You can choose from a Chicken or Beef burger, served in a seed tray in typical Botanist style with an array of toppings available to add. Choose from bacon, avocado salsa, pulled BBQ chicken, chargrilled veg... the list goes on. If burgers aren’t your thing, that’s not a problem here. Check out their popular Hanging Kebabs, with a choice of meat, seafood or a Halloumi and Falafel veggie option.

Almost Famous

You can’t really talk about burgers without mentioning Almost Famous, who take burgers to the next level. Their toppings include Cool Doritos, bacon Frazzles, blue cheese sauce, Cheerios, and even Poptarts. There are two great veggie options and various fries and wings to choose from. The main recommendation is the “Vinny Chase” burger, because what’s not to love about a pretzel bun?! Even better, you can enjoy AF from the comfort of your own home as it’s available on Deliveroo.

Boss Burgers

A relatively hidden gem, nestled in the middle of Hyde Park, with other branches in Chapel Allerton and Harrogate, highlights of the small, but perfectly formed menu are the “Goats Cheese and Chilli One” and the delightfully barbequey “Smokeback Mountain”. The Hyde Park branch has a few tables for eating in, but it is primarily the burger takeaway to top all others. At Boss Burgers they only use grass-fed Yorkshire cattle, it’s high quality at a very reasonable price.

Reds True BBQ

Whether it’s the city centre venue on Cloth Hall Street, or the relatively new addition in Headingley, Reds True BBQ is a meat lover’s paradise. The Donut Burger has become infamous, but at 2000 calories it’s certainly not a healthy option. They offer a vegetarian Double Bean Burger, which is absolutely tasty enough to tempt the carnivores. Even better, Reds is offering 20% off on National Burger Day, visit nationalburgerday.co.uk for more information.
