Simply Red announce show in Leeds as part of comeback tour

Chart-topping band Simply Red have announced a show at Leeds’s First Direct Arena as they make a typically-colourful return to the music scene.

Mick Hucknall and co yesterday confirmed details of a 30th anniversary tour that will come five years after their last performance.

The tour includes a date at the First Direct Arena on December 8 next year.

The arena’s Tony Watson said: “Iconic and with a back catalogue the envy of many a musician, it’s going to be great to welcome Simply Red to the arena celebrating 30 years of topping the hit parade.”

*Former Doctor Who actor Peter Davison has been announced as guest presenter for a sci-fi celebration that is visiting the First Direct Arena on May 27 next year.

The Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular will showcase the long-running programme’s music and feature more than 100 performers.
