Workers can afford to have a little more luxury in their lunch hour after a shuttle bus was introduced to ferry customers between the city’s office district and Victoria Leeds.

A shuttle bus, which hit the road last week, runs from Monday to Friday between 11:30am and 2:30pm and the pick up and drop-off route runs from Park Row, Park Place, Whitehall Road and King Street dropping passengers off at Eastgate near the £165m Victoria Gate Centre which launched in October 2016.

The service, which is free to use, can also be hailed on Park Place and Queen Street.

The idea is to increase footfall and give customers who work in the financial district areas enough time to get to and from Victoria Leeds as well as having time to browse.

Sam French, Marketing Manager at Victoria Leeds, said: “The complimentary shuttle bus is a fantastic introduction to Leeds, and another way of welcoming shoppers and workers around our city into Victoria Quarter and Victoria Gate.

“We hope it will give workers that little bit of extra time to enjoy some luxury shopping, making the most out of their lunch break.”

It follows a similar scheme which started in November last year and ran over the Christmas shopping period.
