Shoppers in Leeds can live life in the fast lane by jumping on board a £130,000 race car simulator.

The high-speed simulator will offer visitors their own Silverstone experience and will be available to try out at the Merrion Centre until Sunday, July 17.

Speaking about the latest arrival at the shopping centre, James Broughton, marketing manager at the Merrion Centre, said: “This offers an exhilarating experience to Leeds shoppers, which they can’t find elsewhere in the city.”

It is understood that the new simulator is being used as a trial run for a more long-term, larger-scale investment in a simulator experience, which could be considered for the shopping centre in the future.

Rides for the current simulator cost £1 per minute.

The fastest participant will win a top prize of a driving experience.
