Seven fans arrested around Leeds United v Millwall game after 'missiles' thrown - but police praise majority

Police praised the good behaviour of the vast majority of Leeds United and Millwall fans on Saturday after making just seven arrests before and after the match.

West Yorkshire Police revealed that six Leeds United fans and one Millwall fan were arrested following some minor disturbances before and after the Championship clash, which ended with Leeds narrowly losing 4-3 in a seven-goal gut-wrencher.Some fans threw 'missiles across the segregation' during the match and there was 'some disorder' in the city centre before the game.

West Yorkshire Police said: "Busy day with 33k+ at the game, & 1,300 away. 7 arrests (6 H, 1 A) some disorder in the city pre match and missiles across the segregation during the game.

"Not too bad a day with fans, stewards and police engaging well. Hope everyone got home safe! @LUFC @MillwallFC @MillwallFotb"
